“We are going to give this a little bit more time here before we pull the anchor and start working up the line trying for wahoo, grouper, and yellowtail.”

“Day two here in Cow Town was tougher than yesterday,” said the report from Intrepid November 17.” We had lots of big Tuna crashing around us all day long, but they just didn't want to bite very well. The conditions were less than ideal. The guys kept at it though and were able to boat more of these beautiful Tuna. We did have a couple more heartbreaks today with two big fish getting away at color. Hot stick and Chartermaster David Choate landed two more trophies today to bring his two-day total to five big fish. It was tough fishing, but if you worked hard at it and got a good bait to get out away from the boat, you had a very good chance of getting picked up. The explosions of the Giants had everyone in awe all day long as they crashed the surface chasing down the sardine.”

“We started with a good morning bite,” Royal Star reported November 17, “then settled into a slow plunk that made for a respectable day. Our tally was 23 fish. Most were 70 to 190 pounds, with three over 200. Once again the amount of fish and the show they put on was quite impressive. If they decide to bite even a little bit the potential is huge. Just what the doctor ordered for this big fish-savvy group. As long as we're seeing this kind of sign we'll stay put. Today's shot shows Dennis '381' Williams with a 235.”

“We fished for big fish today off of Magdalena Bay,” reported Royal Polaris November 17. “We had a tremendous showing of big fish from 09:00 to 13:30 hours. Unfortunately they were not eager to bite any sardines that hooks in them. We managed to land 7 fish from 120 to 185 pounds. We also had a dozen fish from 25 to 50 pounds.
“We are hoping for better action so we are making a move to the south to another area. Hopefully this will work out. Wish us luck.
“Our weather continues to be sensational sunny blue skies, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Largest fish today was caught by Dave Hauser at 185 pounds and second largest was caught by 16 year old Zachary Schenk at 183 pounds. Zack also had a 210 pound fish on the first day of the trip.”
