Crew Fishing Was Next
Royal Polaris had one more go-round on the fish before she headed north yesterday. Here’s the brief:
“We had a fun day following topping off the tanks and were able to squeeze (and I mean squeeze) a handful of wahoo to plug the boat to 100% capacity (I really don’t think anything bigger than a skippie would fit). In the tradition of the past three years, our next focus was on the crew Ultimate Fishing Challenge.”

“We arrived at the Bank this morning just before 7am. We are seeing incredible signs and are just starting to hook some fish. Conditions look very promising! Check back in tonight and we will give a full report!
“Dave Brewer won this Calstar blank for the first fish over 100 pounds landed this morning!”
Local Bright Spots
It should be noted that Hellgren's Sportfishing of Oceanside has found very good yellowtail fishing at San Clemente Island in the past few days, with a couple of days "over the hump," with more than 100 yellows in the count.
Three-quarter day boats Mission Belle of Point Loma Sportfishing and Seaforth boats San Diego and Pacific Voyager have also found very good yellow tailing at the Coronados, as noted in yesterday's counts.
